The Founders
Our Story
Elton and Vida Drake are the founders of Old School – New School Hooper's Club. They have been married since 1993 and have 3 kids — Tony, Jasmine, and Jada Drake. Elton, Vida and their children have a deep love for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Vida and the children attend Mt. Olive Church of Plano, Pastor Samuel Fenceroy. And Elton currently attends and is the youth pastor at WillowCreek Fellowship Church.
Vida played volleyball, basketball, and ran track her middle school and high school years. Elton played basketball and football in middle school, high school, and some college.
Elton and Vida want to use their life experiences and most importantly the word of God to teach the members of OSNS Hooper's Club how to live a life of giving and receiving love. They know that Jesus is the reason their marriage is still together. Elton and Vida had to learn how to love Jesus Christ before they could learn how to love each other. They both believe in putting Jesus Christ first in their lives — and anyone willing to do the same will see the wonderful things that will happen in their lives. Elton and Vida teach every member of OSNSHC the importance of putting Jesus Christ first in their lives.
Since 1999, Elton and Vida have been getting youth to understand the importance of having a relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. They funded the club with Vida working as a Payroll Specialist and Elton as a Construction worker.
In 2001, Elton started working full time getting kids to put Christ first in their lives, and Vida supported him by working full time as a payroll specialist and helping Elton find donations for the club to be funded. From 2003 to present, Elton and Vida are both working full time in the ministry of Old School – New School Hooper's Club — depending wholly on God's blessings to support their family financially.
OSNSHC has been a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization since 2004. Our mission is "Getting kids ages 7-18 and full time college students to put Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ first in their lives."
Old School • New School
Old School
The values passed down from generation to generation. Timeless principles rooted in hard work, discipline, faith, and character — the foundation everything else is built on.
- 1
God First
Every decision, every workout, every interaction starts with honoring Jesus Christ.
- 2
Family Second
Players grow as sons, daughters, brothers, and sisters — not just athletes. Family comes before the game.
- 3
Work Third
When the first two are right, the work on the court flows from the right place — with purpose and passion.
New School
Modern skill development, contemporary training methods, and meeting youth where they are — while never compromising the timeless pillars underneath. New tools, same foundation.
- 1
Skill Development
Position-specific workouts, shooting mechanics, ball handling, IQ — built for the modern game.
- 2
Mentorship
Real relationships between coaches and players. Not just one season — for life.
- 3
Community
OSNS is more than a gym — it's a community where kids belong and grow together.
